The TENANCY DEPOSIT SCHEME came into force on the 6th April 2007.  The legislation is quite detailed and penalties for non-compliance are extremely tough.  Any new Assured Shorthold tenancy falls under the act and a tenant's  deposit must be protected, by law, in one of two types of scheme, either a custodial or an insurance based scheme.  ARLA is one of three professional bodies to back the TDS (Tenants Deposit Scheme) and as members, Bank House Property are approved to retain tenant's deposits.  Should there be a dispute at the end of a tenancy we are able to refer the matter to The Dispute Service who will adjudicate.  This alleviates concerns by both Landlords and Tenants and forms part of our complete and comprehensive service.
